Social psychiatrist to present community health, equity lecture
A social psychiatrist will present “Mending Our Broken Society: Advancing Community Mental Health And Health Equity” on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m.
Mindy Fulilove, MD, Professor of Urban Policy and Health at The New School, is board certified in psychiatry, having completed a residency in psychiatry at New York Hospital-Westchester Division and Montefiore Hospital. She has written and spoken widely about her research on the connections between the environment and mental health.
Dr. Fulilove has published more than 100 scientific papers and eight books, including a highly regarded urban restoration trilogy.
The virtual event is part of the Dr. L.D. Britt Diversity, Health Equity and Disparities Lecture Series, made possible by funding from the Hampton Roads Community Foundation.
