New Student Orientation Continues

EVMS welcomes approximately 75 new faces this week for the second session of New Student Orientation. Students in Art Therapy & Counseling, Public Health, Surgical Assisting, Anatomical Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Pathologists’ Assistant and Biomedical Sciences (PhD and Research) will be on campus Aug. 23-25.
The first orientation session took place Aug. 9-11 and included 175 students in the Doctor of Medicine and Medical Master's programs. A White Coat Ceremony for the MD Class of 2027 was held Aug. 18 at Harrison Opera House.
A feature of both sessions is the keynote presentation by Robert Fullilove, EdD, entitled “Cultural Humility and The Future of Medicine & Public Health.” Dr. Fullilove is the Associate Dean for Community and Minority Affairs and Professor of Clinical Sociomedical Sciences at Columbia University Medical Center and Co-Director of the Cities Research Group.
