Early Assurance Program Dinner and Dialogue 2024

The Early Assurance Program Dinner and Dialogue event brought together university partner career advisors on Nov. 14 for an evening of celebration, collaboration and conversation.

Held on Old Dominion University’s Eastern Virginia Medical School campus, the event provided an opportunity to strengthen connections between partner academic institutions and the EVMS School of Health Professions and Eastern Virginia Medical School.

The Early Assurance Program (EAP) offers highly competitive undergraduate students a pathway to early acceptance into legacy EVMS programs, allowing them to focus on their academic and professional development with the reassurance of a future in healthcare.

University partners from Christopher Newport University, the College of William & Mary, Norfolk State University, Old Dominion University, Virginia State University, Virginia Wesleyan University and Hampton Roads Medical Scholars joined the dinner, highlighting the importance of these partnerships in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Marsha Williams, M.S.Ed., Director of Admissions for Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University, emphasized the significance of the event.

“The Early Assurance Program Dinner and Dialogue Event is about more than celebrating our collaboration," said Williams. "It is about building and sustaining a network of mentors, advocates and supporters dedicated to uplifting the next generation of healthcare professionals.”

The evening's discussions highlighted the shared commitment to providing students with opportunities to pursue their careers in medicine and health professions — building pathways to success and creating the healthcare leaders of tomorrow.
