2024 Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society induction

The newest members of the EVMS Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) Honor Society were inducted on Friday, May 17. This year’s inductees included students, residents, fellows, faculty and alumni.

AΩA, founded in 1902, is the national medical honor society. Its mission is dedicated to the belief that in the profession of medicine we will improve care for all by recognizing high educational achievement; honoring gifted teaching; encouraging the development of leaders in academia and the community; supporting the ideals of humanism; and promoting service to others.

"The AOA mission goes beyond recognizing academic excellence. It’s also a celebration of strength of character and commitment to service," says Ronald Flenner, MD (MD ’89) Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, James E. Etheridge Jr. Distinguished Professor of Medicine.

"It is a reminder that being a physician is about caring for people no matter where they live and service to others is a privilege. I know that our students and their dedication to the profession will make us proud."
