Open Call Theme and Question:

My Health, My Choice: What does Empowering Teen Sexual Health and STI Prevention look like? 

The 2025 Open Call focuses on promoting teen-centered, inclusive, and stigma-free conversations about teen sexual health and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

The contest is open to any individual or any group to share original submissions surrounding the above theme to address the following goals:

  • Empower teens with knowledge, resources, and confidence to navigate STI prevention, testing, and treatment without barriers.
  • Expand access to sexual health education and healthcare services to ensure teens receive timely and accurate information.
  • Reduce stigma and foster safe, supportive environments where teens can openly engage with trusted adults and access necessary care.

What are we looking for?

We accept various forms of submissions, including the following.

  • Narratives - write a story or from experience (800 words max)
  • Poems  
  • Images - submit a picture, drawing, infographic, or painting (please add a caption/short description of the key messages illustrated by the image or images) 
  • Audio or video  (max 5 minutes)
  • Mixed Media - combine storytelling, visuals, audio, or video

Who can participate?

  • We welcome submission from anyone and everyone.
  • Entries may be submitted by individuals or groups.
  • We welcome submissions from individuals, families, or collaborative groups, especially those involving school-age youth working alongside parents, guardians, grandparents, or other trusted adults.
  • Submissions open: March 25, 2025
  • Information session (Tuesday, April 8th, 5pm; please register here.
  • Submission deadline: May 23, 2025
  • Judging period: June 2–20, 2025
  • Finalists announced: June 23, 2025
  • Winning submissions shared publicly: Starting June 24, 2025
  • Relevance – Aligns with the open call topic and resonates with teens, parents, educators, and supportive adults.
  • Innovation & Creativity – Offers original, standout ideas or approaches.
  • Inclusivity – Reflects diverse identities, experiences, and perspectives.
  • Feasibility – Presents realistic, actionable, and impactful solutions.
  • Quality – Thoughtful, clear, and well-executed in presentation.

Note: Submissions created using AI will be disqualified from judging.

  • A total of $2,500 in prizes will be awarded for winning submissions and participation.
  • Prizes range from $200 to $25 in the form of Amazon e-gift cards.
  • Winning submissions will be awarded a Certificate of Award and shared with the community.
  • All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
  • Selected finalists may be invited to join the 2025 Teen Health 360 Open Call Steering Committee or Judging Team.
