Pediatric Basic Sciences division faculty perform basic science research in the areas of:
- Staphylococcus aureus pathogenesis and evasion of host defenses
- Genetics of pectus excavatum
- Identification, characterization and molecular fingerprinting of agents of nosocomial infection in children
We collaborate with the George L. Wright, Jr., Center for Biomedical Proteomics, Microbiology and Molecular Cell Biology and pediatric surgery.
Our faculty conduct personal laboratory research and assist Pediatrics faculty with basic science research in the areas of molecular genetics, microbial pathogenesis and molecular fingerprinting. We also provide basic science research experience and oversight for Pediatrics fellows.
