Sofia Baena, MD

Sofia Baena is a student at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio.  She received her B.S. in Neuroscience from The Ohio State University, Columbus, in 2021.  Sofia was selected by faculty for the inaugural Med 4 Ob/Gyn Chief cohort, working directly with Ob/Gyn Clerkship leadership to improve student experience while on rotation, and assisted with assessing M3 readiness to participate in the clerkship. She also participated in a Global Health Initiative trip to Cartagena, Columbia, and was a Team Leader for a QI program focused on educating post-transplant kidney transplant recipients. Her hobbies and interests include running outdoors, has run a half-marathon every fall for the past few years, and hopes to run her first full marathon in 2025; she attends hot power yoga at least twice a week; she loves making traditional Colombian empanadas, arepas, and agua panela; and she loves to travel.
