Maya earned a B.A. in Linguistics from UC San Diego and her medical degree from our institute. She has worked with Dr. Tetsuya Kawakita, Dr. Robert Squatrito, residents, and other campus faculty and staff on three research studies. These resulted in two peer-reviewed publications in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as two other submissions to the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and poster presentations at the Mid-Atlantic Gynecologic Oncology Society in October 2023, and the Research Day in October 2021.
During her time here, she has volunteered as a Student Leader for Medical Students for Choice, Continuity Coordinator for the HOPES Free Clinic, a member of the Mother Baby Mermaids Program, and the Associate Director of the Matching Committee for Prescribe It Forward. Her hometown is Setauket, New York.
