Our primary goal is to increase participation from underrepresented populations, particularly African Americans, in our research studies and clinical trials. Our center is committed to addressing the disproportionate impact of Alzheimer's disease on African American communities, who are nearly twice as likely to develop the disease compared to white Americans.

We believe in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, with a focus on cultural sensitivity and community engagement. Through our outreach efforts, including partnerships with local churches, universities, and community organizations, we have successfully created a Community Advisory Board to guide our efforts and build meaningful community outreach program.

Since the inception of our outreach program two years ago, we’ve reached over 14,000 African American attendees through educational sessions and events. These efforts have resulted in significant community participation, with 30-55% of our research study participants coming from underrepresented populations.

Looking ahead, we are committed to expanding these relationships and continuing our community-based initiatives, such as Purple Sunday events at local churches, to ensure the ongoing recruitment, education, and retention of a diverse population for our clinical trials.
