Hobbies and Interests: I have four beautiful stepdaughters and we enjoy learning about new cultures together through books, cooking, and travel. I love to go hiking, kayaking, and paddle boarding. I also enjoy Olympic weightlifting and running.
Why I chose this program: I really wanted to find a residency that had multiple clinical sites with exposure to urban and rural populations. I've loved the support that the residency provides to foster my unique interests - from being involved with medical students early on, to working with underserved populations within our Hampton Roads Community. I look forward to working with other specialties and residents, while also being unopposed at different sites. EVMS truly highlights all of this and more - the residency has exceptional teaching and lots of hands-on didactic sessions with longitudinal ultrasound integration. EVMS also does such an excellent job including significant others and families in all of the resident activities, and I just knew that this would be my home.
