Vascular Surgery Integrated Residency

Excellent, comprehensive vascular surgery training designed to prepare our graduates to be the next generation of exceptional and capable vascular surgeons.

New name, same mission

We are proud to announce that Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) is now Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences Eastern Virginia Medical School at Old Dominion University. While our name has changed, our commitment to building a healthier community remains the same. Through our nationally recognized Graduate Medical Education programs, we continue to provide comprehensive, community-based training across multiple hospitals and clinics. This integration with ODU enhances our research and collaboration opportunities, further empowering us to address healthcare disparities and advance medical education.

What sets us apart?

This five-year training program is the newest milestone along our path of excellence in Vascular Surgery education and research at our institution, which began even before the accreditation of our fellowship by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) in 1984.

Residents will receive extensive and comprehensive experience in both the routine and some of the rarest open and endovascular cases due to the unique patient demographic,  and variety of interest from the 11 core additional and non-core teaching faculty.

The program culminates in board examination eligibility and primary certification in vascular surgery.
