Body Imaging Fellowship

Become an expert in all facets of Body Imaging in an academic referral and level I trauma setting.

The Body Imaging Fellowship at EVMS involves training in multi-modality imaging of the chest, abdomen, pelvis and vascular systems within a hybrid private practice. Four-week long rotations are both modality-based (MR, CT and US) and discipline based (oncology).

The MR experience includes prostate MR with DynaCAD, pre- and post-treatment workup of targeted interventional oncology therapy, MR enterography, routine abdominopelvic MRI.  The CT experience includes routine body CT, CT colonography, lung screening program and high resolution CT of the chest, CTA, oncologic imaging including PET CT. Ultrasound includes routine abdominal and pelvic, thyroid, scrotum, early obstetrics, vascular/transplant applications, ultrasound contrast exams, and elastography.   

What sets us apart?

Working alongside fellowship-trained radiologists, our fellows provide patient services and can conduct research while training at while training at American College of Radiology accredited Sentara Hospitals Norfolk, Sentara Brock Cancer Center, Sentara Advanced Imaging Centers, and Bon Secours Mercy Maryview Medical Center. 

Our Body Imaging Fellows:

  • Learn through daily readout with one on one teaching with faculty, regular didactics, and multi-disciplinary conferences (Tumor Boards for Liver, GI, GU, Thoracic, Pancreas, General Surgery).  Fellows:
  • Routinely participate in journal clubs, resident and medical student education and complete a Quality Improvement project. 
  • Receive protected research time.   
  • Can participate in Elective Rotations tailored to individual needs and desires, including opportunities in Musculoskeletal, Neuroradiology, Breast, Pediatric Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Forensics, Radiation Oncology, and national meetings. 
  • Have opportunities for evening or weekend moonlighting.
