Application Process
How to complete the application:
Complete and submit the Post-Baccalaureate Centralized (PostBacCAS) online application along with the $139 application fee for the fall semester. Applications open every September 1st and close June 30th for the One-Year Program and the Two-Year Program, respectively. Admission offers are awarded on a rolling basis as completed applications are reviewed. Application fees are non-refundable, so please check the minimum qualifications before submitting your application. Feel free to call the staff and discuss your credentials if you have questions about which program to apply to.
Information that will be required in the application:
- Send official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended to the following address:

Watertown, MA 02471 - All transcripts must be received and verified by the PostBacCAS system before your application can be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. It is best to send your transcripts as early as possible.
- Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can realistically evaluate your abilities and probability of success in the program. At least one of these letters should be from science faculty who taught you. (Please call us if you have questions about this requirement.)
- If your letters are being sent via Interfolio, please email them directly to our admissions department at hpadmissions@evms.edu.
- PostBacCAS requires you to submit at least one letter request in their system in order for your application to be verified.
- Resume/CV: Please limit to 4 pages or less. Please include the following sections:
- Volunteer work
- Clinical shadowing
- Research
- Personal hobbies/interests
Be sure to detail the total number of hours dedicated to each listed volunteer, research, or clinical shadowing experience.
Please refer to our Biomedical Sciences - Medical for help with formatting suggestions for your experiences. We are not expecting you to have every one of the activities listed in the sample. For instance, you can be a competitive applicant without having research experience.
- Two personal statements. Please limit each to 1 single-spaced page or less.
- Primary personal statement: Address the topic of how your experiences have contributed to your decision to pursue a career in healthcare.
- Secondary personal statement: Address the topics of why you have chosen to apply to a special master’s program, and why you think the Biomedical Sciences - Medical program is a good fit for you.
- Test scores: (Please email your AAMC ID and verification code to our admissions department at hpadmissions@evms.edu.)
- MCAT - scores must be received by the application deadline
- One-year program: Minimum score of 503
- Two-year program: Minimum score of 496
- MCAT - scores must be received by the application deadline
- Photograph of yourself in professional attire.

PostBacCas Application Fee Waiver:
The PostBacCAS Fee Assistance Program is available to qualified applicants on a first come, first served basis. Each fee waiver covers only the initial application fee, so if you wish to apply to additional programs, you are responsible for the remaining balance.
