Zachary Luyo, BSSO President

Zachary LuyoHello, everyone! My name is Zachary Luyo. I am 24 years old and live in Suffolk, Virginia. I received my Associate’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2018 from Liberty University, followed by my Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience in 2022 from Christopher Newport University.

I transitioned directly from undergrad to the Ph.D. program here at EVMS, where I work as a 3rd year Ph.D. student in the Sleep Lab of Drs. Sanford and Wellman. Our research investigates the impact of various stressors on behavior, gene expression, and brain morphology, and how sleep can mediate these processes.
