Academic Regalia

Rental regalia will be provided for all faculty participants who do not have their own regalia. Regalia information will be collected in your ceremony registration form. The deadline to register to participate in the EVMS Legacy Ceremony was Friday, March 7, 2025. Faculty interested in participating after the registration deadline should contact VHS Special Events.

All faculty regalia will be shipped to VHS Special Events and distributed on campus the two weeks prior to the ceremony. You will receive email communication about your regalia pick-up window. If you are unable to pick up your regalia in advance of the ceremony, you will be asked to designate a representative to pick it up on your behalf.

Faculty who are not part of the Platform Party are responsible for bringing regalia to the ceremony on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Faculty who are part of the Platform Party should follow the regalia instructions they will receive by email.

Staff will be on site to assist with donning regalia. Faculty are permitted to wear honor cords, Fine Family Academy of Educators or other stoles and medallions they have earned at EVMS and should bring them to the ceremony. Please read more about Faculty Academic Honors.

All military graduates, faculty and Platform Party members (whether active duty, reserve, guard, veteran or retired) are recognized with a military honor cord to be worn with academic regalia. Participants who meet the criteria should indicate so on their registration. The military cord will be provided with regalia and may be worn in addition to other honor society cords and/or stoles. The military cord may be worn with academic regalia, with cord worn under the hood.
