Register for Commencement
Faculty must RSVP to participate in the EVMS Commencement Ceremony, even those who own regalia, to ensure a seat on the arena floor. The deadline to register was Friday, March 10, 2023. Faculty interested in participating after the registration deadline should contact EVMS Special Events.
Registration for ancillary events such as receptions, White Coat ceremonies and other celebrations opened in early March. Instructions were sent by email. The deadline to register for these events is Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
Order Regalia
EVMS will provide rental regalia for all faculty participants who do not have their own regalia. The deadline to order regalia was Friday, March 10, 2023. If you have an issue or concern with your order, please contact Jostens support at 800-854-7464 or EVMS Special Events.
All faculty regalia ordered through Jostens will be shipped to EVMS Special Events and distributed on campus the two weeks prior to Commencement. You will receive email communication about your regalia pick-up window. If you are unable to pick up your regalia in advance of Commencement, you will be asked to designate a representative to pick it up on your behalf.
Faculty are responsible for bringing regalia to Commencement on Saturday, May 20, 2023. EVMS staff will be on site to assist with donning regalia. EVMS faculty are permitted to wear honor cords, Fine Family Academy of Educators or other stoles and medallions they have earned at EVMS and should bring them on Commencement day. EVMS recognizes all military graduates, faculty and platform party members (whether active duty, reserve, guard, veteran or retired) at Commencement by bestowing a military honor cord to be worn with academic regalia. Participants who meet the criteria should indicate so on their registration. The military cord will be provided with regalia and may be worn in addition to other honor society cords and/or stoles. The military cord may be worn with academic regalia, with cord worn under the hood.
Faculty who are part of the Platform Party should follow the regalia instructions sent by email.
