Dr. Richard Tyrell is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with fellowship training in craniofacial surgery. His clinical interests include general reconstructive plastic surgery, providing gender affirmation surgery and care to the transgender community, facial trauma and maxillofacial reconstruction. He has received both the Hofstra NSLIJ School of Medicine – Junior Academic Award 2012 – 2013, and the Hofstra NSLIJ School of Medicine Senior Academic Award, 2015-2016. Dr. Tyrell is passionate about clinical research and has a special interest in 3D printing technology to advance both surgical outcomes and the education of the next generation of plastic surgeons. Outside of work he is an avid snowboarder, enjoys hiking, and spending time with family.
