Michael C. Bittner

Michael Bittner is a Data Manager II at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). He received his MPH with a focus in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from Virginia Tech in 2019. Prior to joining EVMS, he performed undergraduate research with the biochemistry department focusing on type 2 diabetes susceptibility between species. During his education he conducted research for the Virginia Department of Health focusing on the geographic occurrence of sexually transmitted diseases including gonorrhea and syphilis. Following graduation, he worked for the Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center in Portsmouth Virginia. Here he conducted numerous studies and research into various health issues to improve military readiness of sailors. Studies were among various topics including maternal health, autoimmune diseases, COVID-19 infection rates, mental health and others.
