Madeeha I. Deo, MD
Dr. Madeeha Deo is an Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal medicine at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University and the Director of the Sentara-EVMS Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program. She attended medical school at Nishtar Medical College in Multan, Pakistan, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at EVMS in Norfolk, Virginia. Recognized as a Palliative Care Champion by the EVMS Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine, Dr. Deo is driven by a passion for quality improvement and has led a project focused on enhancing the utilization of advanced care planning.
Dr. Deo is committed to expanding her research portfolio, particularly in the area of sickle cell disease. In this capacity, she is involved in ongoing research to develop a truly comprehensive program for patients with sickle cell disease. Additionally, she has made media appearances on TV, radio, and in newspapers to raise awareness about the condition.
In her free time, Dr. Deo enjoys spending time with her husband and raising their two boys in Chesapeake. She loves learning to cook diverse cuisines, reading about religion and culture, and spending time in nature. A casual hiker and traveler, she has explored 22 states, 7 countries and counting.
