Dr. Lawrence Ford brings more than three decades of strategic business and leadership experience to his new role with the EVMS Goldrich Institute for Integrated NeuroHealth. His service spans military, hospital and civilian patient-care settings.
In a series of increasingly senior positions during a career in the U.S. Armed Forces Medical Services Corps, he served as a strategic advisor and methodologist for six Air Force commanders. He was Senior Enlisted Advisor for medical/business operations for eight military deploying units, leading and supporting more than 4,000 medics. He was Department Administrator for 20 units, collectively overseeing 25,000 health
care employees. His military service took him around the world and included eight years as Flight Chief with the 1st Medical Group at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, VA.
Following his retirement from military service, Dr. Ford worked as a multi-site Practice Manager with Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and Riverside Health System and most recently as Office Manager for Hampton Roads Orthopaedics Spine and Sports Medicine – Pain Management in Newport News.
A Registered Emergency Medical Technician, Dr. Ford holds a PhD in Management with Leadership and Organizational Change from Walden University. He is a graduate of the Patient Advocate Institute of the Air Force Air University, and he completed training in senior medical and leadership management.
