Dr. Latonya D. Hughes, a healthcare professional with  three decades of experience – including 23 years as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, has served as an Accreditation Surveyor with The Joint Commission, inspecting over 200 healthcare organizations across the United State. She holds a PhD in Health Services with a concentration in Leadership and a Masters in Nursing Administration. Dr. Hughes currently serves on the Board of the Hampton University Gerontology Center of Excellence as well as the Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force. She was recently recognized by the Mid-Atlantic Region for her published research on the caregiver's perception of the person-centered care.  Dr. Hughes, a published author of three books, has served in many healthcare leadership roles to include positions within the Department of Veteran Affairs, Sentara Healthcare and Riverside Health System.
