Katrina M. Dash
Katrina Dash has over 10 years of experience working in higher education. Before joining EVMS, she was an Assistant Professor at Tidewater Community College, where she taught Anatomy and Physiology and Environmental Science. She also served as their Sciences Department Chair and assisted multiple faculty members with rapid online conversion of their laboratory-based courses during the pandemic.
As a professor, Katrina developed a love for the instructional design side of course development and saw the value of well-designed online courses, especially in the sciences. As an Instructional Designer, she focuses on providing guidance and training for faculty in interactive module design, curriculum development, soft skills integration, and content authoring tools. She enjoys discovering and testing new educational technologies that improve student engagement and solve the challenges of online instruction.
Katrina holds a BS in Environmental Science and MS in Biological Sciences from the University of Texas at El Paso and a MEd in Curriculum and Instruction from Regent University. She is currently completing a PhD in Medical and Health Professions Education at EVMS, with research focusing on incorporating communication training in science classrooms.
