David T. Nguyen, DO

Dr. David Nguyen completed his Emergency Medicine residency in 2022 at St Lucie Medical Center with Nova Southeastern University (Florida) and his Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship in 2023 at Wake Forest University (North Carolina). He is currently working both as an Emergency Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine physician with EVMS, and throughout his training and clinical practice, he has seen a large overlap between the two fields. Because of this, one of his greatest clinical/research interests is in integrating more hospice and palliative medicine skills within the Emergency Medicine environment, whether with the residency program or in clinical practice in the ED.

Another one of his interests is also in teaching and being able to share his passion for the two specialties with learners who may be rotating with either service. He is also hoping to work closely with the Glennan Center in developing initiatives for a geriatric-friendly ED.

In his free time, he loves traveling (especially visiting as many National Parks as he can!), spending time outdoors, and listening to podcasts.
