Celine Chaya, MD
Celine Chaya is originally from Lebanon. She attended the Lebanese University in Beirut for her Doctor of Medicine degree.
After graduation, she spent a few months in Paris for an observership, further solidifying her decision to pursue Internal Medicine.
Dr. Chaya later joined the Monmouth Medical Center residency program in New Jersey, where she received the John C. Borden award for outstanding performance during her entire Internal Medicine residency from 2008-2011. She then joined her husband as a hospitalist in Sioux City, Iowa.
After almost two years of practicing Hospital Medicine, Dr. Chaya decided to pursue her true passion, Endocrinology. She completed her fellowship at Eastern Virginia Medical School and has been board certified in Endocrinology since 2015. Dr. Chaya currently practices Clinical Endocrinology at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center VAMC in Hampton, Va., and is the VA educational site director for the EVMS fellowship.
She is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and Endocrine Society.
In her spare time, Celine loves travelling and spending time outdoors. She likes reading, is an avid runner, cyclist and enjoys water activities such as kayaking and sailing. She is fluent in English, French and Arabic.
