Sent on behalf of the Continuity of Operations Task Force

We have administered about 1,200 first doses of the Pfizer vaccine to faculty, students and staff. That is good news.

Beyond the fact of those vaccinations, however, remains a pandemic that is generating infections at a high rate and almost always as a result of community exposure. That situation is improving, but is likely to persist until the summer.

For that reason, we have not altered our policy on remote work, meetings or professional travel.

  • Remote work is supported to the extent that it is judged to be appropriate by supervisors.
  • Face to face meetings on campus must follow our protocols regarding masking, social distancing and sanitation.
  • Professional travel, other than research team meetings directly related to grant development or execution, is not allowed.

The advent of vaccinations is truly a positive development, but the impact is not yet sufficient to change our posture on safety. We continuously review the pandemic data and projections, making changes as appropriate.

Please follow our protocols and remain vigilant. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
