Available Study Space: To support student needs with the closure of the library this weekend, EVMS Administration has worked to provide an alternative study space on campus. Lester 104 will remain open for student study from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 7 days a week, with the following conditions:
- Students must wear masks in the room. Masks will be kept behind the security station in the Lester Hall lobby and the security officer will distribute them to students as they are ready to enter the room. Students are asked to recycle their masks, as appropriate.
- Students will maintain physical distancing and hand hygiene in the room. In addition to the first floor bathrooms, a hygiene station with hand sanitizer has been placed outside of the room.
- Tables will remain where placed to maintain a six-foot separation. Only one chair will be allowed at each table.
- Students experiencing any illness symptoms will remain at home.
The room will be sanitized each evening after 5 p.m. Again, please join us in thanking our housekeeping, facilities, and maintenance staff for their tireless efforts toward our campus safety.
For health reasons, no other interior spaces on campus are available for student use for the immediate future.
Printer/Scanner Accessibility: With the closure of the library and the first floor of Lewis Hall, there will not be accessible printers for students. We understand this change might be a challenge. There are a number of helpful scanner apps that may be useful during this time, including the following that have been recommended by students:
EVMS Club and Class Events: As always, EVMS students are demonstrating their creativity and commitment to our community by wanting to hold virtual events. Please remember that all new or altered events require approval by Student Affairs, even if the event was previously approved. Please contact Joann Bautti or Diane Dougherty with any questions.
