EVMS was notified that one of our Physician Assistant students has been confirmed as having COVID-19.

Other students, faculty and staff who had close contact with this person during the period of March 10-13 have been notified and directed to self-monitor and quarantine until March 28. If you are not part of the group that received this notice, your risk of contracting COVID-19 from the affected student is exceptionally low. We merely want to keep you informed and underscore the need to take precautions seriously.

EVMS has been taking action to protect our employees and students — for example, by moving all classes online, by requiring remote work for employees wherever possible and by canceling events and limiting meetings to fewer than 10 people. You are reminded to practice physical distancing in your work and personal life. Additional guidance, work information and resource links are available on the EVMS COVID-19 website. We must each do all that we can to minimize the spread of the virus.

Thank you for taking these concerns seriously and for your cooperation with our actions to minimize the spread of COVID-19. If you have any questions, please contact MCQuality@evms.edu.
