To protect the health of our faculty, staff, residents, students and patients, EVMS, like many other academic institutions, is indefinitely prohibiting employee attendance at domestic and international conferences. Employees should make all reasonable efforts to obtain refunds for any bookings and registrations.  Business Management will provide further guidance on processing already scheduled travel.

Regular internal business meetings and events can continue, but changes may be enacted based on the evolving situation.

While we are not banning other routine business travel at this point, our to CDC-identified Level 3 countries remains in effect. As an additional precaution, you may want to avoid traveling outside the United States at this time.

While travel restrictions will not completely insulate us from COVID-19, these restrictions do help us in social distancing and provide some mitigation of risk that employees we depend upon for clinical, educational and operational functions are not detained in a city with more widespread coronavirus exposure or experience a need to be self-quarantined.

Thank you for your understanding and support. We will provide additional updates as the situation evolves.
