Facilities
Facilities provides a safe, clean, functional, comfortable and sustainable environment for our students, faculty, staff and visitors. We design, construct, operate, maintain, service, and enhance our infrastructure, grounds and environment with a strong commitment to excellence, collegiality and integrity.
Facilities is responsible for Building Operations and Maintenance, Campus Housing, Groundskeeping, Housekeeping, Pest Control, Vehicle Maintenance, Waste Management, renovations to existing buildings and new construction on the campus.
Groundskeeping
Groundskeeping is provided by Bishop's Tree Service, a local Hampton Roads supplier of tree and grounds maintenance. Groundskeeping is responsible for the upkeep and appearance of assigned outdoor areas and assists with maintaining the seasonal needs of parking lots and walkways on the campus.

Housekeeping
Housekeeping is provided by Olympus Building Services, a world class provider of higher education housekeeping services. Housekeeping maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of the campus. Housekeeping also provides set up and cleaning support for various classes, conferences, receptions and special events held in our facilities.

Maintenance
Maintenance provides maintenance service to all of the institute and parking facilities on the campus, emphasizing professional, timely and reliable emergent and non-emergent repairs.

Pest Management
Pest Management supports, develops and implements integrated pest management (IPM) programs that address the needs of the Facilities on center campus. IPM focuses on prevention by removing conditions that attract pests, coordination with local pest control contractors and educating building occupants on IPM principles.

Vehicle Maintenance
Vehicle Maintenance provides quality motor vehicle repairs and service to support the mission of various departments. In particular Vehicle Maintenance is responsible for supporting the shuttle buses. Vehicle Maintenance also supports the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters (CHKD) and Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH) vehicles. Vehicle Maintenance is the authorized provider of fuel for Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University, CHKD and SNGH vehicles.

Waste Management
Waste Management provides commercial waste removal and recycling solutions to the Facilities on our campus. Waste Management promotes sustainable resource management practices in order to conserve the earth's natural resources.
