Workshop Presentation Discussion/Q&A
“An educational opportunity to meet and focus on techniques and skills in a particular field, by engaging participants in a discussion, exercise, activity, or practical application of the concepts presented, usually resulting in a hands-on session with an associated outcome.” 
Must entail one of the following for participants to engage in for ⅓ of the session time, time does not include discussion: 
  • Activity
  • Exercise
  • Application of concept
 “An educational opportunity to meet, present, and/or discuss information, guided by a leader, expert, or teacher on a specific to broad topic.” 
 

 

Can include:
  • Lecture/Presentation 
  • Brief Discussion/Q&A
 “An educational opportunity, in which people pose/consider a question, and openly talk and share ideas or opinions. Could be led by one or multiple facilitators (ie. panel discussion).”

 

Must entail for at least ½ of the allotted time:
  • Participants discussing openly or posing questions as a whole or small group

 

Professional development opportunities are focused within the following domains:

  • Education (teaching, instructional design, curriculum development)
  • Research and scholarship
  • Administration, leadership and organizational development
  • Career development (promotion process and the development of a professional dossier)
  • Wellness and vitality
  • Women in Medicine and Science (WiMS)

CME credit is offered unless otherwise stated.

Powerpuff is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
