Robert Palmer, MD, MPH
Robert M. Palmer, MD, MPH, is the John Franklin Chair of Geriatrics, Director of the Glennan Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology and Professor of Internal Medicine at EVMS. Dr. Palmer has an international reputation for research on improving functional outcomes of hospitalization, patient safety and quality of care. For 14 years, he was the head of Geriatric Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. Prior to joining EVMS, he was the Clinical Director of Geriatric Medicine and Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburg. He is the Associate Editor of the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) and Chair of the AGS Special Interest Group, Acute Hospital Care. In 2015, he received the AGS Edward Henderson Award in recognition of his contributions to the field in education, clinical service and research.
