Dr. Parish graduated from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Lake Erie College PA Program in 1981 earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. He earned a Masters of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Michigan in 1989 with concentrations in Gerontology and Public Health Policy. He then completed a Doctor of Health Sciences (DHSc) degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2004, focusing on health education and cross cultural communication. He worked in several clinical areas during his career including, inpatient Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Dermatology and Dermatology clinical research. He has been in PA education since March 2001 when he was a faculty member at the Medical College of Ohio and became Director of the EVMS PA Program in 2004.

Pediatric Dermatology

Mrs. Dempsey is a graduate of Old Dominion University and EVMS’s Physician Assistant Program. She has been a faculty member since May 2007. Mrs. Dempsey has a dual appointment in the Department of Pediatrics and practices clinically at Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters in Pediatric Dermatology. She has 2 adult children and lives in Virginia Beach with her husband.

Urology

Mrs. Anderson was born and raised in Wilmington, NC.  She completed her undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University and received her PA training at EVMS’ Physician Assistant Program. She practices clinically at a multi-physician private urology group where she specializes in reconstruction, incontinence, and erectile dysfunction.  She joined the PA Program faculty in July of 2011 and has a dual appointment with the Department of Urology.  She lives in Virginia Beach with her husband.

Occupational Medicine 

Kate Connor is graduate of Bowdoin College (Class 1980) and Yale University Physician Associate Program (Class Of 1982). Over the past 30 years, Ms. Connor has practiced clinically in Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Occupational Medicine and Emergency Medicine.   Since 2002,she has taught physician assistant students at EVMS and George Washington University.  She has three grown daughters and currently lives in Norfolk with her husband Mike, a career Navy officer, and her very spoiled dog, Cosette.

Mrs. Cerezo received her Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech and Master of Physician Assistant from EVMS.  After graduating from EVMS, she began clinical practice in Family Medicine in Las Vegas, Nevada in a variety of outpatient settings including working with the underserved.  She returned to the Hampton Roads area in 2010 and lives in Chesapeake with her husband and two children. She currently practices clinically with EVMS Portsmouth Family Medicine.

Mr. Grahame graduated from Cedarville University (Ohio) in 1999 as an athletic trainer.  After graduating from the EVMS MPA program in 2003, he worked clinically in a multi-physician orthopedic surgery office.  In 2007 he returned to teach full time in the PA program, where his educational focus has been surgical patient care, musculoskeletal exam, and clinical skills and procedures.  In addition, he serves as the Director of Admissions for the program.  He lives in Chesapeake with his amazing wife and 5 children.

Mr. Kirby is a graduate of Clemson University and Hahnemann (Drexel) University PA program.  He spent 8 years in Emergency medicine in the Hampton Roads area prior to practicing in Gastroenterology for the past 7 years.

Mrs. Pearman graduated from the Wake Forest University PA Program in 1999 and obtained her Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2007.  She has clinically practiced in primary care and orthopedics, but has focused in emergency medicine since 2004.  Following a passion for teaching, she joined the EVMS faculty in 2006.

Mr. Thibodeau has been a faculty member of the physician assistant program since 2005.  His focus of education is the patient interview and physical exam skill development, as well as clinical skills procedures.  He has been an active member of his local, state, and national organizations, and currently represents EVMS and his profession on national steering committees in cardiovascular disease.  He lives here in Norfolk with his two sons.
