Chairman
Alfred Abuhamad, MD
Dr. Abuhamad currently serves as Professor and Chairman for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. He is on the board of the Society of Ultrasound in Medical Education, International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal Fetal Medicine Foundation and Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. Abuhamad is Chairman of the Ob Right Program, a nationally recognized program in patient safety and quality. He is also the current President of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. He has published numerous papers in peer review journals and has authored two textbooks on fetal echocardiography. Dr. Abuhamad is well known internationally for his work in ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, global outreach, and patient safety.
Residency Director
Kindra A. Larson, MD
Dr. Larson received her BS from University of Colorado, Boulder in 1993 in Aerospace Engineering. She then served 4 years in the USAF at Armstrong Laboratory in San Antonio, Texas prior to starting medical school at the University of Washington, Seattle, completing her degree in 2003. She completed her Ob-GYN Residency at University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester NY in 2007 and her Fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery completed in 2010 at University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor. She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and will be eligible to sit for the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Boards when they become available in the future. She has been associated with EVMS since 2010.
