What I Like About the Program: I like the diversity of training and skills among our attendings, who are always ready to get residents involved in what they are doing. You can basically find someone to help you pursue any interests you have. My co-residents are team players and a pleasure to work with, even on hour 28 of a 24 hour shift. And the location is not too bad either. The best thing, though, has been having leadership that listens to us and fixes the issues/concerns we have as they come up. This program is truly about educating the residents.

What I Like About the Program: EVMS Ob/Gyn is a great program. Everyone in the department is enthusiastic about education and creating a positive working environment. To me, the members in the program are like a second family - we all support and encourage each other to excel. If I had to go through residency match again, EVMS would still be my number one choice.

What I Like About the Program: The family-like atmosphere. I felt welcomed the first day I came. Faculty take an active role in supportive teaching. Residents get along great and will always stick up for one another. We see a lot of pathology and high risk pregnancies, but I never feel like I am dealing with it alone. When there is a poor outcome, the team really unites to support and help one another.

What I Like About the Program: The attendings are approachable and friendly. The rotations are well organized. But what really makes this residency stand out is the diversity of the residents. Despite different backgrounds and interests, the large majority are gregarious people with a shared desire to strike the elusive work-life balance that makes residency bearable, and more importantly, fun.

What I Like About the Program: We get great ultrasound training and access to the newest generation of ultrasound machines from GE. It’s a supportive learning environment with friendly co-residents and approachable faculty. I enjoy the area and being able to live walking distance from the hospital, multiple restaurants/bars and my gym and it’s only a short drive to the beach! I also love the waterfront events and local sports teams.

What I Like About the Program:I'm finally experiencing my residency in the US, and I can tell you from my multicultural educational background this program has been by far the most energetic and and exciting to be in . The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at EVMS presented me with the occasion to obtain top-notch training through the excellent faculty and mentors that are leaders in Obstetrics and Gynecology and their areas of interest, from MFM to REI to benign gynecology.
Our curriculum includes the obvious clinical foundation, combined with a focus on cutting-edge medical literature to bring residents to the forefront of current knowledge in ObGyn.
The support to research is tremendous, and we are highly encouraged by all faculty members to participate in it and to present in national conferences with full coverage by the department.
The relation that we have with our mentors is exquisite, they treat us like their children or siblings ( we do have many young faculty members), during the day they'll be teaching us something (which they always do) and in the evening we'll be having dinner or watch a movie together.
Cutting Edge ultrasound training, this is an element that is not offered in any other program. We are constantly trained and guided by one of the Country's leader in the domain Dr Abuhamad
I could go on and on about the program but will stop here! If you want to hear more or have any questions, please shoot me an email. I would be more than happy to give you my most honest answers to whatever you ask!
