Course Description: Experience in Urogynecology in an office and hospital setting with hands-on experience in the operating room in a supervised setting. Management of outpatient urodynamic testing and other evaluations pertinent to the patient with urinary incontinence.
Distribution of Student’s Effort: Patient Contact: 30% inpatient, 70% outpatient; 30-40 hours/week faculty contact; 12 hours/week surgery.
Objectives:
- Basic knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of female incontinence and related issues.
- Basic knowledge in operative techniques including cystoscopy.
- Improve ability to perform pelvic exams in an office setting.
- Basic knowledge of urodynamic testing.
Evaluation: 35% oral exam/case presentation; 65% clinical observation.
