Campus-Wide Email Messages
MarComm maintains responsibility for all campus-wide email messages. There are four standard methods of communicating directly to the campus at large:
- e2campus: Emergency messages. These generally relate to safety or campus closures and are prompted by senior management or security only.
- NewsFlash: Warnings/announcements. These relate to events that impact day-to-day work - for instance: street closings, steam-system maintenance, network interruptions. These messages will come from a new account, NewsFlash@evms.edu.
- News Bulletin: Event or RSVP reminders. This new outlet will contain other time-sensitive but non-urgent information. It will be used primarily to remind the campus community prior to large events. To save you some time, there is no need to design flyers or send attachments for these messages. They will all go out with approved EVMS branding. eNews Bulletins will be edited for grammar, content, clarity and length and compliance with EVMS logo/branding standards. Messages needing substantial changes may be returned to the sender for revisions.
- eNews: Weekly news digest. This compilation of campus events, news and information pertinent to faculty, students and staff will now be published every Tuesday. The e-newsletter will be the primary venue for most of the traditional, non-urgent Postmaster content. To ensure inclusion in the e-news, send MarComm event notices and news items no later than the end of the day the Thursday prior to publication (e.g., a message intended for the April 27 e-newsletter should be submitted no later than April 22).
Messages intended for campus-wide distribution should be sent to news@evms.edu. A MarComm staff member will review the message and route it to the best outlet. EVMS Alerts and eNews Bulletins require written approval from the dean or one of the designees with authority to approve all-campus messages.
