PROGRAM DIRECTOR
GRADUATE ART THERAPY AND COUNSELING PROGRAM
School of Health Professions
Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, Virginia
Full-time, 12-month faculty appointment beginning in academic year 2013-2014
Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Organize, administer, and oversee the program
- Develop and manage the budget
- Coordinate the curriculum
- Organize all aspects of practica and internships
- Lead faculty team
- Promote faculty development
- Recruit faculty as needed
- Monitor and evaluate faculty and staff
- Coordinate ongoing program evaluation and approval
- Develop and implement student recruitment plan
- Maintain program policies and practices consistent with related institutional documents
- Provide clinical supervision, thesis advisement, and course instruction
- Serve on EVMS committees as designated
- Seek opportunities for community collaboration and program growth
Report to the Dean of the School of Health Professions
Qualifications:
- ATR-BC (art therapist registered and board certified with the Art Therapy Credentials Board) and Ph.D. or related Doctorate preferred
- Prior administrative, teaching, and supervisory experience
- Demonstrated studio, scholarly, and professional activity
- License-eligible in Virginia
